Director's Note: EAST LOS R I S I N G is a devised project commemorating the 50 Year Anniversary of the Chicano Moratorium and an artistic offering to the social justice movements of our time. The recent uprising and mass protests, an unrelenting virus and the cry for racial justice called us to action. We interviewed artists, activists and Vietnam vets who generously gave us their time and their stories. And then, we made virtual theater. We are “East Los R I S I N G.”
